A 75-year-old woman was pushed to the ground and robbed Friday night as two suspects fled into a Manhattan subway station.

New York, NY – A 75-year-old woman was attacked and robbed on the Upper East Side Friday night when two unidentified individuals approached her from behind and stole her purse, according to the NYPD. The incident happened at approximately 8:17 p.m. near 61st Street and 1st Avenue within the 19th Precinct. The suspects fled into the 59th Street–Lexington Avenue subway station.

The woman was walking in the area when the two individuals approached her from behind and grabbed her purse. During the struggle, the victim fell to the ground as the suspects took her belongings and ran toward the nearby subway entrance.

The extent of the victim’s injuries, if any, was not immediately disclosed. No arrests have been made.

Suspects flee into subway system

Police said the suspects entered the 59th Street–Lexington Avenue station following the robbery, a major transit hub that connects multiple subway lines. Investigators have not released descriptions of the individuals involved.
