Elderly Woman Robbed of $6,000 Jewelry in Bay Ridge

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a female suspect wanted for robbing an elderly woman in Bay Ridge.

On Friday, April 7, 2023, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a 70-year-old female was walking near 41 Avenue and 76 Street when an unknown female approached her.

The suspect handed the victim fake jewelry, and while the elderly woman was distracted, the unidentified female removed the victim’s necklace and bracelets.

The stolen jewelry is worth approximately $6,000. The individual fled the scene in a gray or silver Mercedes SUV, heading southbound on 76 Street toward Woodside Avenue.

No injuries were reported in this incident.
