Elderly Woman Scammed by Fake Bank Rep in Queens

Queens, NY — On Monday, a 77-year-old woman fell victim to a scam involving an individual posing as a Chase Bank representative. The incident occurred at approximately 3:07 PM.

The scammer contacted the victim, claiming her account had been hacked and funds were needed to fix it. The perpetrator then took a taxi to the victim’s home, collecting approximately $15,500 before fleeing northbound on Lindenwood Road in the same taxi.

The victim was not injured during the incident. Police are investigating the matter.
