Elkton Shooting Investigation Uncovers Blood, Casings but No Victim

Deputies are currently on scene at Linda Pedersen Park on Shoal Line Boulevard conducting an investigation into what appears to be a Suicide Attempt.

ELKTON, MD—A shooting in Cecil County led police to a disturbing scene with blood and shell casings but no victim at the location. The Cecil County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired on Thursday in the unit block of Appaloosa Trail in Elkton. Although no victim was found at the scene, evidence of the shooting was apparent.

Minutes after the initial discovery, law enforcement was informed that the victim had been dropped off on Taft Street in Aberdeen and was eventually transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.

The injuries were reported as non-threatening. According to witnesses, the incident involved two individuals arriving at the scene with handguns, which precipitated the shooting. Detective Travis Chinery is leading the investigation and is urging anyone with information to come forward.
