DOVER, DE – The Delaware State Police have arrested 21-year-old Jeremiah Weatherspoon, an employee of the Shore Stop in Dover, Delaware, for his involvement in a robbery that occurred on November 6, 2023.

Troopers responded to the scene at around 7:42 p.m. after receiving reports of the robbery at the store located at 2636 South State Street.

Initially, Weatherspoon had reported a masked individual demanding money and fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

However, further investigation revealed that Weatherspoon had fabricated his account and collaborated with two others to stage the robbery while on duty.

On Friday, Weatherspoon turned himself in and was charged with multiple felonies, including Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony, Theft Greater than $1500, and Providing False Statements to Law Enforcement. He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
