EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Evesham Police Department on Wednesday night confirmed a circulating message believed to target Cherokee High School has been found to be an old threat from 2018, originally aimed at Clovis High School in New Mexico.
Upon receipt of the message, the Evesham Police Department collaborated with the Lenape Regional High School District administration to evaluate the risk.
An investigation traced the message back to an April 2018 incident in Clovis, New Mexico. During that time, a 17-year-old was arrested for the threat against Clovis High School.
Authorities confirm that there is no current danger to Cherokee High School. Evesham Police will increase their presence around local schools to reinforce public safety.
The police department thanked community members for bringing the message to their attention, underlining their commitment to school safety.
