Ex-Boyfriend Charged for Attack on Woman in Utica

Utica, NY — A female victim was assisted by Utica Police Officers on August 27th after she reported a violent confrontation with her ex-boyfriend on Summit Pl.

The victim stated that her ex-boyfriend physically attacked her, choking her until she lost consciousness. A passing vehicle caused the attacker to flee the scene.

Upon examining the victim’s condition, officers called the Utica Fire Department, which transported her to a local hospital for treatment.

Police obtained a description of the male suspect and located him a short distance from the scene. He was arrested without incident.

Further investigation revealed that an active order of protection against the male was in place. The victim also stated that just before the incident, the male had sent her threats. Charges are pending.
