Fall River Man Hospitalized Following Shooting

FALL RIVER, MA — Gunfire broke the silence in Fall River on Friday evening, leading to a 34-year-old man being hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.

The Fall River Police Department is actively investigating the shooting, which occurred in the vicinity of Blackstone Street, directly behind a Stop & Shop supermarket.

According to Fall River Police Detective Sgt. Moses Pereira, law enforcement was alerted to the situation around 7:40 p.m. following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, officers discovered the victim, who has not been named, in a critical condition due to the severity of his injuries.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition. As of now, it has not been disclosed whether any suspects are in custody in relation to the shooting.
