Fatal ATV Collision Under Investigation in Capitol Heights

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD — A tragic incident occurred on the night of Sunday, June 17, when Ronald Hayes, Jr., a 29-year-old from Upper Marlboro, was fatally injured in an ATV accident. The collision, which involved a pickup truck, took place around 10:00 PM on the 7500 block of Walker Mill Road.

Upon their arrival, emergency responders found Hayes critically injured at the scene. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after. An adult female passenger on the ATV also sustained critical injuries during the incident.

The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the circumstances of the crash. Initial reports indicate that the ATV and a pickup truck collided in the eastbound lane of Walker Mill Road. The driver of the pickup truck was unharmed.
