Fatal Car Accident Under Investigation in Frankford

FRANKFORD, DE — A tragic car accident has claimed the life of a 45-year-old Frankford man on Tuesday night, according to the Delaware State Police. The incident occurred at approximately 10:25 PM on Frankford School Road, just south of Thatcher Street.

The deceased was driving a Honda Accord northbound when he lost control of the vehicle after exiting a curve. The car veered off the east side of the road, traveled through grass, collided with a fence, and overturned in a ditch. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and later pronounced dead at a local hospital. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The roadway was closed for about three hours as the Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the scene. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash and are urging witnesses or anyone with further information to come forward.
