Fatal Collision in Glenwood under Investigation by Howard County Police

GLENWOOD, MD – Howard County police are investigating a fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a Chevrolet Silverado that occurred early on Sunday.

The motorcycle, traveling southbound on Route 97, collided head-on with the truck when the motorcycle rider, identified as 63-year-old Charles Franklin Bailey Jr. of Silver Spring, attempted to overtake another vehicle. Bailey Jr. was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

The occupants of the Silverado remained unharmed.
