MILLSBORO, DE – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon, January 2, 2024, in Millsboro.

At approximately 4:05 p.m., a white Cadillac CTS, driven by a 20-year-old man from Lewes, Delaware, was traveling eastbound on John J Williams Highway (DE Route 24), just west of William Street Road. Concurrently, a silver GMC Terrain, operated by a 29-year-old woman from Millsboro, and a blue Dodge Ram, driven by a 24-year-old man from Millsboro, were traveling westbound on the same highway. The driver of the Cadillac was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The GMC’s driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries, as did the driver of the Dodge Ram.

The section of John J Williams Highway between William Street Road and Maryland Camp Road was closed for about 2.5 hours while the crash scene was investigated and cleared. The Delaware State Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
