Fatal Crash in Greenwood Investigated by State Police

GREENWOOD, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal crash that took place this morning in Greenwood. A 65-year-old man from Felton, Delaware, died when his Mercury Mountaineer veered off the road and collided with several trees.

The incident occurred on Greenwood Road, north of Tomahawk Branch Road, at about 5:49 a.m. The vehicle left the east side of the road for undetermined reasons, crashing into trees and overturning onto its roof. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending family notification.

The crash led to a three-hour road closure as authorities conducted an investigation and cleared the debris.
