Fatal Fire in Bogota: One Deceased, One Escapes

BOGOTA, NJ — A fatal fire at 320 River Road on Saturday, November 18, is under investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Bogota Police Department. The incident was reported at approximately 5:59 a.m.

Upon arrival, police and fire department units, including neighboring fire departments, found an unconscious male victim inside the residence. He was later pronounced deceased at Hackensack University Medical Center.

A female victim managed to escape the residence before the arrival of first responders. She was evaluated on the scene by emergency medical services and declined further medical assistance.

The investigation, led by Chief Jason Love of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Chief Daniel Maye of the Bogota Police Department, is ongoing. Further details are not available at this time.
