Fatal Hit and Run Incident Leaves Pedestrian Dead in Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA – A fatal hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian occurred on Tuesday, February 27, at around 11:10 PM in the 14th District, located at 7900 Ogontz Avenue. The collision resulted in the death of a 46-year-old male pedestrian.

According to the preliminary investigation, a silver sedan, identified as unit #1, was traveling north on the 7900 block of Ogontz Avenue. At that time, the pedestrian, identified as unit #2, was crossing the street against the light and outside of the crosswalk. The sedan struck the pedestrian, leading to fatal injuries.

Witnesses at the scene reported that the driver of the silver sedan stopped briefly after the collision. The driver then exited the vehicle, assessed the damage to his car, and subsequently fled the scene. He was last seen heading north on the 8000 block of Ogontz Avenue. A vehicle part bearing a Ford emblem was discovered at the site of the accident, indicating the make of the involved vehicle.
