VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – On Tuesday, the Virginia Beach Police Department’s (VBPD) Traffic Safety Unit reported a fatal motorcycle crash in the 4700 block of Northampton Blvd.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the motorcycle, heading southbound on Northampton Blvd., left the roadway and struck a tree in the median.
The rider, Charles Payne, Jr., a 61-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation, led by the VBPD Traffic Safety Unit, is ongoing.
