NEW WINDSOR, MD – A catastrophic two-vehicle collision on Liberty Road resulted in four fatalities and multiple injuries on Saturday evening.

Charles Black III, 72, along with passengers Barbara Black, 69, Debbie Hill, 63, and Gage Black, 17, all from New Windsor, were pronounced dead following the accident that took place around 5:30 p.m., November 4. Maryland State Police report that their vehicle was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by Austin Walker, 25, of Westminster.

The collision caused Black’s Chevy to veer into the opposing traffic lanes, where an eastbound Ford F-350 subsequently struck it. The teen, Gage Black, was airlifted to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A 15-year-old boy also suffered injuries and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Ford, a 59-year-old man from Mr. Airy, received medical attention at Carroll Hospital in Westminster.

Preliminary investigations indicate that impaired driving was not a contributing factor to the crash. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the tragic incident.
