Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Yonkers, Fleeing Driver Captured in Nearby County

YONKERS, NY – A tragic incident occurred on Monday when a 21-year-old male pedestrian was struck and fatally injured by a vehicle in Yonkers.

At approximately 4:00 PM on March 25, the Yonkers Police Department was alerted to a motor vehicle accident at 632 Van Cortlandt Park Avenue. Upon arrival, first responders provided immediate medical attention to the severely injured 21-year-old male. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he ultimately passed away from his injuries. The identity of the deceased has been withheld pending notification of his family.

The vehicle implicated in the accident had initially fled the scene. However, it was later discovered in a neighboring county by detectives. The Yonkers Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances of the accident and will provide further details as they become available.
