Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Morningside Claims Life of Elderly Woman

MORNINGSIDE, MD – A fatal pedestrian collision occurred in Morningside on Thursday, resulting in the death of 77-year-old Sally McCoy of Suitland. The incident took place at around 3:10 pm on the 6500 block of Suitland Road. The initial investigation revealed that a southbound driver struck McCoy as she attempted to cross the street.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
