Fatal Pedestrian Collision Under Investigation in Prince George’s County

DISTRICT HEIGHTS, MD— The Prince George’s County Police Department is currently investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred last Friday night. The accident resulted in the death of 62-year-old Willie Evans Jr., a resident of District Heights.

The incident took place on June 7, 2024, around 11:10 PM at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Forestville Road. Responding officers found Mr. Evans in the roadway, having suffered significant trauma, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The initial findings of the investigation indicate that the driver, who was traveling northbound on Pennsylvania Avenue, struck the pedestrian. Importantly, the driver remained at the scene following the collision.
