Fatal pedestrian crash shuts down I-70 westbound in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A fatal accident involving a pedestrian has forced the closure of Interstate 70 westbound at Brice Road, with the shutdown expected to continue into the early morning rush hour, police said.

The Columbus Division of Police announced the closure overnight and urged drivers to seek alternate routes. Officials recommended using Brice Road northbound to either E. Livingston Avenue or E. Main Street, then connecting to I-70 west via S. Hamilton Road or I-270.

Authorities have not released details on the victim or the circumstances surrounding the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
