Fatal rush-hour collision leaves pedestrian dead in Howard County

HOWARD COUNTY, MD – A pedestrian was struck and killed Monday evening while crossing Cedar Lane near Holland Court, according to Howard County police.

The incident occurred around 5:15 p.m. when a 2013 Hyundai Sonata hit the man as he was crossing the road. The pedestrian was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, who remained at the scene, was not injured.

Cedar Lane was closed for approximately two hours while investigators from the Howard County Police Department worked to process the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
