Fatal Scooter Accident Reported in Galloway Township

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ—A tragic motor vehicle accident resulted in the death of a young man in Galloway Township early Friday morning. At around 1:30 AM, police were called to the scene of a collision on West White Horse Pike near the intersection with West Jimmie Leeds Road.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a Toyota Rav 4 and an Acura TLX involved in the accident. Nineteen-year-old Stephen B. Johnson III, a resident of Galloway Township, was found deceased in the roadway.

The investigation indicated that Edith Ramirez-Masedas, also from Galloway, was driving the Toyota westbound when her vehicle struck Johnson, who was riding an electric scooter in the travel lane. Johnson was thrown onto the road and was then hit by the Acura, driven by Manuel Rodriguez of Egg Harbor Township.
