Fatal Scooter Crash Under Investigation in Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Authorities are investigating a fatal crash involving a single motorized scooter that occurred early Monday morning.

On June 17, at approximately 1:28 a.m., Yeferson Josue Dominguez Valero, 29, was operating a 2023 Jiajue Razor 150 motorized scooter southbound on New Hampshire Avenue toward Eastern Avenue, NE. While traveling in the deceleration right turn lane, he attempted to continue straight but struck the raised median of a traffic island, causing the scooter to flip.

Dominguez Valero was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. Despite receiving treatment, he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday, June 19.

The investigation into the circumstances of the crash remains active. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the authorities.
