Fatal Shooting in Camp Springs Under Investigation

CAMP SPRINGS, MDThe Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating a fatal shooting that took the life of 47-year-old Darryl Hazel of Suitland.

The incident occurred in the early hours of April 7, 2024, around 3:15 am, on the 6300 block of Suitland Road. Upon arrival, officers found Hazel with gunshot injuries. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities are seeking motives and working to identify any suspects, indicating the belief that this was not a random act of violence. A reward of up to $25,000 is available for information leading to an arrest and indictment related to this case.
