Fatal Shooting in Pikesville Under Investigation

PIKESVILLE, MD – Baltimore County Police are currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on the evening of August 3, 2024.

Responding to a report of shots fired at around 10:05 p.m., officers arrived at the 6800 block of Liberty Rd., 21207, where they discovered an adult male victim, later identified as 29-year-old Tracey Wayman Hankins Jr., unresponsive and suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical staff. Following this, his body was moved to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of death.

As the Baltimore County Homicide detectives take the lead on this case, they urge anyone with information related to this incident to come forward and contact them at 410-307-2020 to assist with the ongoing investigation. Further details will be released as the investigation progresses
