Fatal Shooting in Queens: 25-Year-Old Male Victim Identified

NEW YORK, NY — On Monday, November 20, 2023, at around 10:03 PM, NYPD officers in Queens responded to a shooting at 40-35 21st Street, within the 114th Precinct’s jurisdiction. A 911 call alerted the authorities to the situation.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a 25-year-old male, later identified as Joseph Valdez of 164 Sherman Avenue, New York, NY, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The incident occurred in front of the stated address.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) promptly transported the victim to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. However, despite the urgent medical attention, Valdez was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
