Fatal Shooting in Waynesboro Leads to Arrest

WAYNESBORO, VA — A fatal shooting occurred Tuesday morning in Waynesboro, resulting in the death of one man and the arrest of another. The Waynesboro Police Department, as reported by spokesperson Jamie Dunn, has identified the suspect as 23-year-old Jacob Sipe. Sipe has been charged with second-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The incident took place in the 400 block of James Avenue. Police responded to the scene around 9 a.m. where they found 33-year-old Trevor Hill deceased on the front porch of a residence. Sipe was arrested following the incident and is currently being held without bond at the Middle River Regional Jail.

The area around the scene has been cordoned off, and the police have advised the public to avoid the area as they continue their investigation. This is an ongoing story and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
