Fatal stabbing in the Bronx leaves an 18-year-old facing murder charges and a family grieving.

BRONX, N.Y. — An 18-year-old Bronx resident has been arrested and charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 32-year-old man early Thursday morning, police said.

Dionicio Cano-Vicario, 18, of 1541 Selwyn Avenue, faces charges of second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, and two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 1:35 a.m. reporting a male stabbed inside the same Selwyn Avenue address. Officers found Florentino Cano-Garcia, 32, with a stab wound to the neck.

Emergency medical services transported Cano-Garcia to BronxCare Health System Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities confirmed that Cano-Vicario was taken into custody at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
