Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision in Laurel Under Investigation by Delaware State Police

LAUREL, DE – A serious two-vehicle crash earlier this month in Laurel has resulted in a fatality, with Delaware State Police conducting an ongoing investigation.

The incident occurred on February 3, 2024, around 3:30 PM, involving a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt and a 2008 Dodge Charger at the intersection of Camp Road and Sussex Highway. Preliminary findings suggest that the Chevrolet Cobalt, while stopped at a stop sign, entered the path of the southbound Dodge Charger, leading to a collision.

The 57-year-old male driver of the Dodge Charger, from Laurel, Delaware, experienced minor injuries but declined medical treatment. The 81-year-old female driver of the Chevrolet Cobalt, from Millsboro, Delaware, was transported to a hospital with serious injuries and later succumbed to those injuries on February 17, 2024. Authorities have yet to release the name of the deceased pending family notification.
