ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA – The Albemarle County Police Department and Albemarle County Fire Rescue responded to a two-vehicle crash on East Rio Road near Albemarle Square on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at approximately 10:29 a.m.
One individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are withholding the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
The Albemarle County Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is actively investigating the cause of the crash. No further details have been released at this time.
