Fatal Vehicle Fire Under Investigation in Baltimore County

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD – On Monday at approximately 1:55 p.m., members of the Baltimore County Police Department responded to a vehicle fire at Northwest Regional Park on the 4500 block of Deer Park Rd.

Detectives on scene found that an explosion had occurred within the vehicle. The operator, 46-year-old Abayomi Adeleye, was pronounced dead at the location. A passenger was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of Adeleye’s death is under review by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Detectives from the Baltimore County Fire & Explosion Investigation Team are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
