FEMA Just Paid $59 Million to House Illegal Migrants in Expensive Hotels in New York City

NEW YORK CITY — Elon Musk alleged that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) improperly spent $59 million on luxury hotel accommodations for migrants in New York City, in violation of a presidential executive order.

Musk made the claim in a post on X, formerly Twitter, stating that the DOGE team had uncovered the alleged misuse of disaster relief funds.

“Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President’s executive order,” Musk wrote. “That money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high end hotels for illegals!”

Musk added that a formal clawback demand would be issued to recover the funds. Neither FEMA nor White House officials have publicly responded to the allegations.
