NEW YORK CITY, NY – On Tuesday, at around 10:00 pm, an assault occurred in the vicinity of West 89 Street and Riverside Park.
The New York City Police Department reports that a 38-year-old female was attacked while jogging on the bike path.
A yet-to-be-identified male on a bicycle accosted the woman, knocked her down, and proceeded to assault her sexually.
The perpetrator then fled on his bicycle, leaving the victim with minor bruises and scratches. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she is currently in stable condition.
The individual is described as a male, roughly 30-40 years old, about 5’6″ tall, with a light complexion. His last seen attire was a red sports jersey with the number “40” on the back, and he was riding a dark-colored bicycle. The police department requests public assistance in locating this individual.
