Fight at Lab City event leads to shooting, three injured

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A shooting at an event in Lab City, southeast Charlotte, has left three people injured, including two security guards. The incident occurred on Sunday around 1 a.m. near 2800 East Independence Blvd, following a fight at the event.

According to reports, the two security guards attempted to intervene in the altercation when they were shot.

All three victims, whose identities have not been released, transported themselves to the hospital for treatment. The severity of their injuries remains unknown at this time.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating the incident, and the suspects remain unknown. The management of Lab City, where the event took place, released a statement stating that a motorcycle club rented the venue for an anniversary event, and the altercation occurred as the group was leaving.
