Lithium Battery Cell Causes Fire in Empty Apartment on Success Lane

TOMS RIVER, NJ – A small fire erupted in the living room of an unoccupied apartment at 411 Success Lane, prompting a swift response from the fire department.

The incident was quickly managed as the fire department extinguished the blaze without any injuries reported. Investigator Britton attributed the cause of the fire to a lithium battery cell that had been left charging in an outlet.
