MOUNT LAUREL, NJ – Police and firefighters evacuated the Parkway Elementary School in Mount Laurel Township early Thursday morning. According to officials, the fire broke out inside a room near the school’s gymnasium.
Students were evacuated and transported to another school in the district.
The fire was reported at around 8:30 am and has since been extinguished, but local fire officials said the students are not yet permitted to re-occupy the building at this time.
