Fire truck struck while at call on Interstate 295

CHERRY HILL, NJ – A Cherry Hill Fire Department ladder engine was struck by a passing vehicle while operating at an incident on Interstate 295.

According to the Cherry Hill Fire Department, Rescue Ladder 13 was struck by a passing vehicle.

“The impact from the secondary accident left the motorist from the striking vehicle trapped, requiring extrication,” the department said. “Cherry Hill Fire Department members provided immediate aid and utilized hydraulic rescue tools to free the occupant of the second crash, who was then transported for further treatment.”

No firefighters were injured during the collision.

The Cherry Hill Fire Department reminded residents to slow down when approaching emergency vehicles on the roadways and to adhere to the Move Over Law.
