Firearm and Substance Possession Leads to Arrest

BOSTON, MA – At approximately 12:14 AM, on Monday, officers responding to a call about a fight at 252 Magnolia Street arrested Elias Perea, a 44-year-old Boston resident. Upon arrival, officers observed Perea throw an object toward a chain link fence.

Further investigation determined the object to be a loaded Glock 33 firearm. Also recovered was a bag containing substances believed to be cocaine and crack cocaine. Perea was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession with intent to distribute Class B drugs, and assault by means of a dangerous weapon. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
