Firearm Found on School Property Leads to Arrest in Albemarle County

The Albemarle County Police Department (ACPD) reported a swift response to a situation at Murray Elementary School on February 14, 2024, where a firearm was discovered unattended in a vehicle on school grounds. Around 2:30 pm, officers were dispatched following a report of a possible weapon at the school.

Upon investigation, officers confirmed the presence of an unattended firearm within a vehicle parked at the school. As a result, 36-year-old Tiffany N. Hicks was arrested and charged under §18.2-308.1 for having a firearm on school property. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in relation to this incident.
