Boston, MA – On Friday, July 5, 2024, at approximately 12:48 PM, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested 25-year-old Jordan Galloway of Mattapan on firearm charges following a traffic stop in Dorchester.

Officers patrolling the area of Columbia Road and Dorchester Avenue observed a vehicle with tint on the side windows but not the rear window. They activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop.

Upon approaching the vehicle, officers noticed the driver, Galloway, reaching to the right side of the vehicle. When requested to provide his license and registration, Galloway’s hand was observed to be shaky, and he was breathing heavily and sweating profusely.

Further investigation led officers to request Galloway to exit the vehicle. A pat frisk of the vehicle revealed a Ruger 380 firearm with one round in the chamber and four rounds in the magazine.

Galloway was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
