Firearm Seizure Leads to Arrest in Severn Traffic Stop

SEVERN, MD — A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a prohibited possessor on Wednesday in Severn. At around 12:20 p.m., police stopped a blue Acura on the 1100 block of Reece Road.

During the stop, a loaded Springfield handgun was seized from Rashard Marquise Dixon, a 19-year-old male passenger from Baltimore, Maryland. Dixon, who is legally prohibited from possessing firearms, was promptly arrested and charged.

The incident underscores ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to enforce gun control laws and ensure public safety.
