Fireboat 8 rescues two after vessel overturns during storm

LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Two people were rescued from the water on Thursday after their vessel overturned during a storm, according to the Tenth District Volunteer Fire Department.

Fireboat 8 responded to the scene and deployed a rescue swimmer who assisted both individuals back onto the fireboat. The pair were then transported safely to a local marina.

According to the department, both individuals declined medical treatment after the rescue.

The incident occurred amid severe weather conditions in the area. No injuries were reported.
