First-degree murder charge filed in Baltimore homicide case

BALTIMORE, MD — A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in the Southeast District last month, Baltimore police announced.

Investigators say Sean Lloyd of Baltimore was identified as the suspect in the February 2 shooting that claimed the life of 37-year-old Troy Kavanaugh. The incident happened around 3:15 p.m. in the 2500 block of East Biddle Street following a dispute between the two men.

Responding officers found Kavanaugh suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On March 21, 2025, Warrant Apprehension Detectives arrested Lloyd without incident. He was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility and charged with First Degree Murder.
