Hackettstown, NJ — A Flood Watch remains in effect through late tonight for several areas in North Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania due to the potential for excessive rainfall.
The affected regions in New Jersey include Camden, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Northwestern Burlington, Salem, Somerset, Sussex, Warren, and Western Monmouth counties. Areas in Delaware and Pennsylvania, including New Castle, Berks, Delaware, and parts of Chester, Montgomery, Lehigh, Bucks, and Philadelphia, are also under the watch.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms associated with an approaching cold front are expected to produce widespread rainfall amounts between 1 to 3 inches, with localized areas possibly receiving up to 4 inches or more. Excessive runoff may cause flooding in rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying areas, as well as poor drainage and urban areas.
The Flood Watch remains in effect until 2:00 a.m. EDT on August 19. Residents are advised to stay informed and take precautions in flood-prone areas.
