PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – A tragic incident unfolded early Sunday morning in Port St. Lucie, where police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide involving a couple.
The Port St. Lucie Police Department responded to a call at 2:52 AM in the 5400 block of NW Cromey Street near Odom Court. Upon arrival, officers discovered two adults deceased in the home. According to the preliminary investigation shared on social media by the PSLPD, a 51-year-old man fatally shot his 52-year-old wife while she was sleeping before turning the gun on himself.
Also present in the home during the incident were two 16-year-olds, who, according to police, were unharmed.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to understand the circumstances leading up to the tragedy.
