FLUSHING, NY – Queens resident Zhili Song was recently arraigned on a host of weapons possession charges after a search warrant executed at his basement apartment in Flushing led to the discovery of a wide range of firearms, including untraceable “ghost guns”, and ammunition.
Song, 30, was arrested following a long-term investigation by the Queens District Attorney’s office into his purchase of polymer-based, unserialized firearm components.
The investigation culminated on Tuesday when officers from the New York Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit, Major Case Field Intelligence Team, and the Queens District Attorney’s Detective Bureau executed a search warrant at Song’s residence.
If convicted, Song faces up to 15 years in prison. He is due back in court on Friday.
