STATEN ISLAND, NY – While visiting Staten Island to promote the campaign of his son Andrew Giuliani, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was assaulted by an irate worker at the business, he said.
The former mayor said he felt a powerful slap on his back when the leftwing assailant violated Giuliani’s body autonomy.
“You’re a f-cking scumbag,” the employee said after making contact.
Giuliani said he nearly fell down from the blow. The employee was later detained by officers from the New York City Police Department.
“This particular incident hit very close to home. The assault on my father, America’s Mayor, was over politics. We will not be intimidated by left-wing attacks. As governor I will stand up for law and order so that New Yorkers feel safe again,” Andrew Giuliani said after the assault.
Giuliani said the assault was motivated by the Supreme Court ruling to overturn Roe vs. Wade.

“The one thing he said that was political was ‘you’re going to kill women, you’re going to kill women,’” the mayor said in an interview with the New York Times.
“This has to stop. This is getting ridiculous,” he told the paper. “I’ve been in politics 50 years, I’ve never been attacked like this.”
