Former Philadelphia Homicide Detective Arrested on Rape Charges

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The District Attorney’s Office Special Investigations Unit announced the arrest of former Philadelphia Police homicide detective Donald Suchinsky on rape charges linked to a second alleged victim.

Suchinsky, arrested on Thursday, faces charges of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual assault, indecent assault, terroristic threats, and official oppression.

These charges stem from at least 10 alleged assault incidents against the second victim between 2017 and 2022. Suchinsky is currently being held on $1.5 million bail.

This arrest follows a previous charge against Suchinsky for Aggravated Indecent Assault and related offenses, made in February 2023.
