JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – Eight months ago, Lianna Angrisani, of Jackson was working as a server in the food services industry. Tomorrow, she is opening up her own business in her home town. Angrisani has been buying and selling antique furniture and restoring antique furniture for others online during the COVID-19 pandemic and she says business is going so well, she decided to open up her own store, to give her online business a place to call home, Second Chance by Lianna.
“While I loved my job, the people I worked with and the cash I brought home every night, I remember always having to miss out on holidays, weekends, special occasions & always needing to shuffle my work schedule around my kids’ extracurricular activities since I mainly worked nights,” she said. “After I refinished my front door in September, it was just the push I needed to get those creative juices flowing again— and so I turned to furniture restoration as a form of making extra side cash so I can cut back my works hours & be present & home for my children more.”
Angrisani buys antique and worn furniture, restores it then sells it on the Facebook marketplace. It has been a successful venture and now with people being more budget-conscious during the COVID-19 pandemic, they are coming to her to restore their old furniture instead of buying new replacements.
She remembers the first piece of furniture she refurbished and sold, a white cabinet.
“This was the very first piece of restored furniture that I sold,” she recalled. “I remember feeling so happy when I delivered it to their home & even more proud of myself that someone actually wanted to purchase it. NEVER in a million years did I think that my side hustle would blow up into me expanding so much that I landed myself with my own storefront. NEVER.”
Tomorrow is her big day. The mayor of the township is coming and the chamber of commerce to welcome her to the business community.
“With my Grand Opening approaching tomorrow, I’m having a serious moment of reflection with how far I have grown & come these past 8 months & I am filled with so much gratitude— I’m anxious, I have butterflies, and I’m excited for what this next chapter has in store,” she said. “I say it all the time; but I am so thankful for my family, friends & most of all my clients for always believing in me & pushing me to achieve & crush every goal I set for myself along the way. Without all of you, none of this would be possible.”
The store is located on County Line Road in the Brookwood Plaza (Planet Fitness), 400 S New Prospect Rd, Jackson, NJ. The grand opening will be between 10am and 4pm. You can join the Facebook group here.
